Introduction :)

 Hi y'all!! My name is Tida and I'm originally from Wilmette, IL which is about 20 minutes or so from Chicago. I am currently on campus living in Brokaw with my cat, Sasha, and sometimes functioning without much sleep... Some interests of mine are singing (mostly in the shower), writing (in cursive... :p), watching anime, and occasionally working out. Due to COVID-19, I feel like my obsession with decorating and plant-owning has increased immensely, so I have 3 REAL plants in my room right now and the rest are fake. If I have fake ones, I feel like Sasha will be more interested in those than the real ones (we pray). Another thing about me is that I am always eager about making new friends or just chatting with new people so if you are interested, please feel free to reach out!! Literally, if you come to me saying some dark or depressing stuff, I will not run away. I just love people haha. 

Anyways, since I'm a Psych major and Gender Studies minor, this class stood out to me since I've never taken a class that solely focuses on Queer, Black, or Brown people. Last term, I took Amy's Asian American Film class and I really enjoyed the material and discussions we had in class so I also wanted to take another one of Amy's classes, especially before they leave :( I am definitely a newbie when it comes to learning about Queer and Black identities, terminologies, etc., but I am very excited to learn and be introduced to material and films relating to those topics. While I am afraid of messing up or saying something wrong, I am still looking forward to correcting any mistakes I make along the way and become more exposed.
